Cookie Policy

This is the single cookie policy for the whole Best of Bedz web presence at bestofbedz.com: the booking pages at bestofbedz.com/stays, our marketing pages, and our Travel Services pages. It lists what we use by category, which pages use it, and how you control it.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Some are set by us (first-party); others are set by services we embed (third-party). Similar technologies include local storage (small values kept in your browser), tracking pixels (tiny images that report a page or email was opened), and SDK scripts from advertising platforms.
2. Strictly necessary (always on)
The booking site works with these alone. They cannot be switched off because the site does not function without them, and none of them profile you.

3. Analytics (consent required)
Where enabled on our pages, analytics tools help us understand which pages work and where guests get stuck. They load only after you consent through the cookie banner on the pages that use them.

Analytics identifiers are pseudonymous; we do not use them to identify you personally.
4. Advertising and marketing (consent required)
We advertise on social platforms. Where their pixels or SDKs are enabled on our marketing pages, they load only after you consent, and they allow the platform to measure our ads and show you relevant ones.

Where we run advertising, we may also share hashed identifiers (such as a hashed email) with these platforms to build custom audiences. You can opt out of this at any time by emailing privacy@bestofbedz.com, and the platforms provide their own ad-preference controls.
5. Affiliate links (Travel Services)
Our Travel Services pages recommend third-party travel products (for example flights, transfers, activities) through affiliate links. When you follow one:
- The partner or its affiliate network attributes the referral, usually with a cookie set on the partner's own site after you leave ours, governed by the partner's own policy.
- Where an affiliate network's tracking runs on our pages, it is treated as marketing under this policy and loads only after you consent.
- If you book with the partner, we may earn a commission. It never changes the price you pay, and your contract for that product is with the partner under the partner's terms.
6. Email measurement
Our booking and account emails are transactional. Marketing emails (only if you opted in) may contain a tracking pixel that tells us whether the email was opened and which links were clicked, so we can stop sending what you do not read. Unsubscribing stops both the emails and the measurement.
7. Error monitoring
Where enabled, our applications use Sentry for error monitoring. When an error occurs, technical details (browser, device, IP address, what happened) are captured so we can fix it. Sentry does not set advertising cookies and is not used to profile you; it exists so the site works.
8. Third-party embeds
- Google Maps. Property pages embed a Google map. When it loads, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies under Google's policies (policies.google.com/privacy).
- Social content. Marketing pages may embed posts or videos from platforms (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok); the platform may set cookies when the embed loads.
9. The consent rule we hold ourselves to
Strictly necessary items load always. Everything in Sections 3 and 4 loads only after you choose to allow it, through a banner with equally prominent Accept and Reject options, on every page that uses those tools. You can change your mind at any time from the Cookie Settings link in the footer of pages that carry the banner, and withdrawal takes effect immediately. Pages that run no analytics or marketing tools (currently including the booking flow itself) show no banner because there is nothing to consent to.
10. How to control cookies in your browser
You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings (Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge each have a cookies section under Privacy). Blocking the strictly necessary items may stop the language choice or wishlist from persisting, but browsing and booking still work. Local and session storage are cleared through the same settings ("Clear site data"). Industry opt-outs for interest-based advertising: youradchoices.com and youronlinechoices.eu.
11. Changes and contact
When we add or remove a tool in the tables above, we update this policy first, and where consent rules change materially we re-prompt. Questions: privacy@bestofbedz.com.
